Della Trojan, Vice Chair of the WCNA, has compiled a list of tasks that she deems are required to bring our Parks up to snuff. Improvements and maintenance tasks fill the lists and plans are being made to organize times and dates, plus start locations, for any volunteers willing to “Pitch In and Give a Hand.”

If your home is adjacent to one of the following Parks, watch for the planned schedules and please consider putting on some gloves, bringing your gardening equipment and  joining in. While we rely heavily on the cooperation and fine assistance from City crews, there are tasks that we can undertake to better the parks, preserve the trees and make the areas even more  enjoyable for all.

WALKER’S CREEK SOUTH PARK:

• Mulch/weed … dogwoods and trees
• Weed/rake playground areas
• Paint benches

WALKER’S CREEK NORTH PARK:

• Mulch/weed trees
• Paint benches
• Weed/rake mulch in playground area

CINDY DRIVE PARK:

• Mulch/weed trees
• Weed/mulch entrance & planting at Lakeshore Rd
• Sweep the paced trail

CHERIE ROAD PARK:

• Sweep paved trails at Cindy, Cherie, Butler and Melody Trail entrances
• Weed/mulch at the live crib wall
• Weed/mulch trees and shrubs

The WCNA Executive Group is meeting on Tuesday July 5th and the planned schedule will follow shortly after this meeting.
