Mr. Jim Benson, Assistant Director of “City Parks and Community Services” will be present for an informal exposition of the plans and considerations to be highlighted in the six parks that form our association.

Also, Mr. Josh Diamond, Vice Chairman of the “Friends of Malcolmson Park” will inform us of upcoming activity plans in that gem of a nature park.

The restoration work on the Creek, the plan for a new Children’s Playground and new maintenance procedures will be topics, so that we are all well informed.

The new acting WCNA Executive will be introduced and their thinking for the coming seasons will be open to discussion, development and efforts to have activities and action happen gently through the Parks this spring, summer and autumn. Butterfly Garden preparation, Park Spring Clean-up, Plant Sale or Yard Tour, Star Gazing Night in September … and a new venture called ‘Weather Permitting” will be explored.

The acting executive is composed of Linda Crouch, Nancy Williams, Della Trojan and Ben Hannan, as the acting Chair. We would welcome assistance on the executive in filling the position of Treasurer … and we are looking for ideas, suggestions, leaders for events and activities … an excellent time to get even more involved in your and our community!!

Unfortunately, the WCNA Meeting for March was cancelled due to unusually severe winter weather.

Luckily, we have been able to reschedule our special guests for our April meeting.
